Bryce Canyon National Park was much smaller than the nearby Zion National Park. It however had the unique formations called hoodoos.
We got good views of the hoodoos looking down into the amphitheater from the Inspiration and Sunset points on the rim.
The highlight of our visit was the hike on the Navajo loop trail. This was a 1.3 mile loop starting from Sunset point and descending into the middle of the hoodoos. The descent and the ascent were both pretty steep with a weaving trail path. But, the trail path was well-made and hardly risky.
This hike through the slot canyon and hoodoos (some of which had fancy names such as “Wall Street”) gave us an up-close and personal experience of the peculiar geology there.
