The drive from Arches National Park to Antelope Canyon, Arizona was not nearly as good as the drive from Zion National Park to Arches National Park. The exception to this statement was the drive by the Monument Valley. We did not go into the the Monument Valley Navajo Tribal Park itself, but the drive in that area was quite pleasurable.

Just for the sake of it, we took a minute to pose and run like like Tom Hanks in Forrest Gump movie in the middle of those roads (these roads barely saw any traffic).

Antelope Canyon area was our last destination for this trip. Having done so much already on this trip, would attractions in this area impress us further? The Horse Shoe Bend did blow me away, but the Antelope Canyon honestly was a disappointment for me.

It was not that the Antelope Canyon was not worth seeing, but the experience was damaged by the crowded guided tours.

The guided tour automatically made it time bound, so we did not have as much time as I would have liked to experience the place. Even in the short one hour we had, the guide would often focus on photographic artifacts such as how certain angles show some interesting shapes for the pictures, and how throwing sand and making it fall would create a good photographic effect.

The Horse Shoe Bend was quite a scenery. The view from 1000 ft height of the Colorado river down below as it flowed gently through the red colored canyons was spectacular.

From the top, we saw a boat of people down below in the river. It would have been good to experience the Horse Shoe Bend from inside the canyon like those people, but we did not explore the option.

Other attractions in that area were the Glen Canyon Dam and the Lake Powell. We merely drove around these.
